Vishwas Rao ( Shahid Kapoor ) is raised by his mother ( Padmini Kolhapure) who hopes that his son will grow up to be a police inspector . Vishwas However wants to become a movie hero. After helping a social worker Kajal ( Ileana D;Cruz ) while dressed as a police inspector for a photo shoot , she's mistaken to be inspector , and plays along. after traveling to Mumbai to pursue his acting career , which was published by mistake in the newspaper as an inspector . he sees his mother . She comes to Mumbai to see his dream come true, and the circumstances leading Vishwas to carry his lie not only to Kajal , but also his mother.
